Sparkling gems, exotic stones, lustrous pearls as well as unique and antique glass beads strung on fine silk and precious metals, these are the hallmarks of designer Bonnie Rodgers' creations. Drawing on her photographic and video production background and her life-long love of jewelry, her inspiration comes from the play of light, texture and color. "I create pieces that are at once, elegant and classic, or whimsical and funky, beautiful artwork for people to wear." Although mostly self taught, she has studied with numerous professional artists learning the art of silver-smithing, stone setting, lapidary preparations, and wire wrapping techniques. Bonnie also works on commission both to create new designs and to repair old and broken jewelry. One customer remarked, “My grandmother left me her pearls but they needed work. Now that Bonnie recreated an amazing and elegant piece with these pearls, my grandmother will always be with me.” Bonnie has exhibited at the Mamaroneck Artists' Guild, the Hastings Public Library, the Wild Angels and various crafts fairs and events. Her work can also be seen worn by many people who pass on the local streets of Westchester. Bonnie lives in Hastings -on Hudson, New York with her husband and three sons. |
